Our Story

At The African Food Trail, we are passionate advocates for culinary tourism in Africa. Our business model is built on the belief that food has the power to connect people, bridge cultural gaps, and create lasting memories. We strive to showcase the incredible diversity of African gastronomy, from the vibrant street food markets to the refined dishes of Local chefs.

 

Our journey in the back alleyways of Kibokoni (old town), Mombasa. Where our food enthusiast founder Hawa would take her out of town friends to discover and devour her Favorite Swahili delicacies that informed her palate growing up.

 

It was then that she realized the huge disconnect between Mombasa’s food tourism and the number of positive impacts these visits had on the small-scale artisanal vendors, that's when the budding idea struck and the African Food trail was born.
